“After the game at Shiner had been rained out the St. Edward’s Juniors took the Halletsville Giants into camp by the score of 3-1 on the Halletsville diamond. Playing against over-sized boys, or, to be exact, young men, the Little Saints were in rare moods and made hits coupled with spectacular fielding that drew applause from the Giant’s rooters. The fans, on gazing at the diminutive forms of the Juniors expected to witness a walk-away by the Halletsville nine, but the game wasn’t one inning old before the Juniors had begun to field and hit in big league fashion.”
