Members of the 1947 freshman and sophomore classes of St. Edward’s
High School enjoy participating in the Model Airplane Club on campus.
St. Edward’s High School had its beginnings in 1878 when the first students
enrolled in classes at St. Edward’s Academy. The high school continued to
exist alongside the College (1888-1925) and the University (1925 – present)
until the high school closed its doors in 1967. In 1943, when most college age
young men were away at war, the school focus turned mainly to the high school
which became known as the “St. Edward’s Military Academy.” The
university resumed full operations for the 1946-47 academic year.
