"The sixth annual commencement exercises for St. Edward’s University were held on Sunday, May 25. Thus another milestone was past in the lives of
the men who on that day received their much coveted degrees. The graduates are
admonished always to remember what the priests of St. Edward’s have done
for them – to keep ever in mind the great sacrifices that the fathers of
the Congregation of the Holy Cross have made for them, and to keep in constant
practice the precious lessons learned from them here at St. Edward’s. It
is also well for the graduate to remember that he can in some measure repay St.
Edward’s by always boosting his Alma Mater, sending new students here,
and being otherwise an active ex-student. The editor and other members of the
Echo staff add their heartfelt wishes for the best of success that life has to
offer. Thus – farewell."
