by particular philosophers: |

Use the library catalog and type the philosopher's name (last name
first name) and click on AUTHOR.
Sometimes a philosopher's work has been included in an anthology. If you are
looking for a particular work or essay, type the title of the essay and click
on WORDS OR PHRASE.
Once you locate a book that is relevant, click on VIEW to find the subject
headings assigned to the work and the call number. You can click on the subject
headings to find other books about the same topic, and you can browse the stacks
near that call number to find other books about the same topic as well. |
| To find critical essays and books about
a particular philosopher or school: |

- Use the library catalog and type the philosopher's name or school, and click
on WORDS OR PHRASE.
- Once you locate a book that is relevant, click on VIEW to find the subject
headings assigned to the work and the call number. You can click on the subject
headings to find other books about the same topic, and you can browse the stacks
near that call number to find other books about the same topic as well.

| If the library does not have the books you need: |

You can search other libraries for books and request they be brought to the
library. This is called InterLibrary Loan, and we receive books in 4 to 10 days.
To find books in other libraries and request them: |

- First, set up an InterLibrary Loan Account.
- Then, use the library database, WorldCat. You will be searching libraries
all over the world.
- Once you locate a book in WorldCat, Click on Borrow this item from another
library (Interlibrary Loan).
- Enter your Illiad account information to request the book.
- You will receive an email when we receive the book.
